My Teaching Philosophy

Music, at its heart, is a way to communicate and share with others. It is inherently a collaborative practice, and should be treated as such- especially in an education setting. Through teamwork and comradery, students can lift each other up to new heights.

Showing up is half the battle! Providing students with a safe space impacts their willingness to try and their ability to grow. Effort does not look the same for everyone, and that is an important caveat!

Creativeness and imagination is what makes the mundane special. Fostering kids unique ideas empowers their sense of self, and highlights their originality.

No two people are the same, so why would you treat them as such? Encouraging kids to be their true, unique selves enables them to grow into their full potential.
